Book recommendations

Here's a helpful list of my book recommendations for Leaders:

The First 90 Days. Proven Strategies for Getting Up to Speed Faster and Smarter.  - by Michael D. Watkins

Read if: you are starting or have just started a new leadership role

This book was recommended to me by a brilliant CFO and I now recommend it to every leader starting a new role.  It's brilliant and I still dip in and out of it.  I wrote about this book here.

What got you here, won't get you there. How Successful people become even more successful! - by Marshall Goldsmith

Read if: you want to step up in your career

Another brilliant book for new leaders.  You can't keep working and thinking the same way and expect different results.  This book encourages you to do things differently.

Never split the difference. Negotiating as If Your Life Depended on It - by Chris Voss

Read if: you want to improve your negotiation skills

This book reads like a heart-racing thriller, rather than another business book. Brilliant stories and examples and so many takeaways. I wrote about my lessons learned here.

The Lean Startup. How Constant Innovation Creates Radically Successful Businesses. - by Eric Ries

Read if: you work for a startup

When working for startups / fast growth businesses, it can be a good idea to understand it from a founders point of view.  This book is  highly recommended for entrepreneurs and therefore as a finance senior within a startup, it should be an important read as well.
